The performer shows a wooden block and a cabinet. The block looks solid and has a hole through it. The cabinet has an open front and back and a hole near the bottom of each side. A wand is also shown. The block is placed inside the cabinet. The wand is passed through the holes in the cabinet and the hole in the block, locking the block securely inside. The audience can clearly see the wand passing through the block.
A spectator is invited to remove the block from the abinet. This action is impossible because the wand genuinely passes through the block and prevents it from being removed. The performer removes the wand and takes out the block. The block, cabinet and wand are shown again. Everything appears completely ordinary.
The block is then placed back inside the cabinet. A magician inserts the wand and locks the block in place once more. After a few magic words, the performer causes the block to mysteriously pass through the wand and removes it from the cabinet while the wand remains in position exactly as before!
