The Device è un'illusione estremamente pratica, trasportabile nelle tue tasche.

Il mago spiega al pubblico come è entrato a far parte di un’associazione segreta di maghi: è stato possibile attraverso un test per corrispondenza, piuttosto insolito.

Toglie un piccolo oggetto piatto dalla tasca che spiegato diventa una scatola. Per prima cosa spinge alcune matite attraverso dei fori praticati in vari punti.

Poi toglie le matite dimostrando che c'è a malapena spazio sufficiente per farci entrare il braccio. Il mago prosegue dicendo che la vera parte difficile del test consiste nell’inserire le matite mentre il braccio è ancora all’interno ...

Una ad una, sei matite appuntite vengono conficcate attraverso la scatola, e misteriosamente (o dolorosamente) penetrano nel braccio del mago. Ogni matita inserita dimostra la determinazione a diventare un mago. Dopo aver inserito l'ultima matita, si rivela di aver superato la prova. Le matite vengono rimosse ed il braccio viene mostrato illeso.

The Device include un libretto di dodici pagine stile fumettistico pieno di foto. E' semplice da costruire (occorrono solo pochi minuti) e viene fornito il materiale per realizzarne due ed anche un modello scaricabile. Sarà necessario reperire le matite e la colla.
